nothing boring about this seasons' fashions. Runway shows set
the trends with shock and awe playing up dramatic and
theatrical rather than practical and wearable. Some of the
outfits should come with warnings - Don't try this at home,
expert supervision required.
The silhouette for fall
runs the gamut from slim and fitted to layers and volume. We
are covering up for the cold weather. Boots and hosiery are
important again after a summer of bare legs and sandals.
Opaque stockings and leggings, in every color imaginable,
including black and patterns, are covering up legs for the
cold winter months. Dresses are in, wraps, batwing, long ankle
length, scoop neck, button front, and coat; there is a
flattering style for everyone.

I just had a client mention to me "I always feel like I
am not with the current fashion trends". Here is my suggestion
to her.
Don't get too caught up in the trendy
fashion scene. If a current style or color works for you,
fantastic, go for it! If not, leave it on the
shelf.
Look around at the wide range of fashions
available. The baby boomer generation won't accept being told
what to wear. What is in fashion for us is what fits, looks,
and feels best for our individual style.
A trendy
wardrobe needs to be replaced often resulting in added
expense. Invest your money on timeless basics then add a few
trendy accessories each season to update your look for a lot
less money.
